Open Water Adventure Swims in Hawaii
Are you coming to the Big Island of Hawaii and have been dreaming of #swimwithkarlyn on your very own private or semi-private Open Water Adventure Swim?
Then lets do it!
Come by yourself, or invite one or two friends to join you as you swim in crystal-clear water surrounded by an abundance of tropical fish, turtles, and other marine life. We can meet just once, or set up a series of two or three Adventure swims.
Adventure swims are both scenic and instructional, so the actual distance we cover will vary and is based on your ability and conditions. However, you can plan to train for swims 2k to 4k in length with lots of breaks along the way. All ages and abilities welcome.
Video: I will bring along and underwater camera and film your stroke offering stroke technique suggestions as well as capturing our Adventure swim on video.
Sample Schedule:
Session one: We will meet at the Kailua pier and begin with an ocean safety talk followed by an optional 30-minute clinic featuring useful open water skills and drills. Once I know you are comfortable in the water, we will stroke side-by-side heading Northwest of the pier (not the Ironman course) swimming over coral reefs while I film our adventure and offer suggestions to help you improve your freestyle technique.
Session two and three: Do we head north to Kua Bay or the Mauna Lani OR head south to Capt. Cook or Hookena beach? We can decide which direction to go based on conditions and interest. No matter what the location we choose, you will be amazed by the scenery and gorgeous water.
